Blog 5: How can your major make the world a better place

 

Chemistry has been present since the beginning of life on earth till today, it's a science that has a big impact on the development of complex societies, day to day life and on the search for solutions to actual problems, like the excessive energy consumption, pollution and the environmental deterioration.

This helps us to satisfy our basic needs, like the alimentation, the development of medication, clothes, our living places, energy, transport and communications, which all of this help us to better the quality of human life.

I feel very anxious about this pursuit of knowledge. I want to keep understanding more complex subjects about chemistry and how it has been developing around the world. I see myself contributing in a positive way, always with a professional compromise with the environment pointing to a better quality of life, protecting the resources that are scarce, and trying to make the least waste possible on this journey. I can’t wait for that day!
